Assalamu Alaikum Warahmathullahi Wabarakaathuhu,
For over twenty years the Ceylon Moor Ladies Union has been a beacon to hope for tsunami affected orphans, ensuring they continue their education despite unimaginable hardships. The CMLUs unwavering commitment has benefited 151 children, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and build a brighter future. Twenty-one students have so far been selected to universities, College of Education, SLIATE College and Engineering College. Some students completed their university education and Teacher training at college of education. Many students involved in different jobs according to their skills and are settled in their life.
Beyond education the CMLU with the generous support of the Islamic Foundation of Toronto has provided essential necessities such as stationery, clothing and dry rations easing the burden of these young lives.
Our gratitude towards the CMLU for promptly responding recently, to an appeal for laptops by recognizing the pressing need of five university students to complete their research studies. It was an unattainable dream to these students.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the CMLU and the IFT Canada for their compassionate and continuous support.
Your kindness has changed lives and your dedication will forever be cherished.
