The Ceylon Moor Ladies Union

The Ceylon Moor Ladies Union will in a few years be nine decades old. In the past three years of our history we have been faced with the worst economic crisis since independence in 1948. It was one crisis after another since the outbreak of Covid 19. Our normal activities were jeopardized, however CMLU being a pioneer Muslim Womens Organization was able to withstand all obstacles and serve In The Name of Allah with much courage and resilience.

The CMLU Home for Girls has endured this crippling period steadfastly with the support of benefactors in Sri Lanka and abroad, who themselves were affected by this global phenomena yet were mindful of the less fortunate children under institutional care. The management was able to face the challenges that came one after another and changed our strategies striving to progress in our activities that were in the pipeline for the benefit of the children at the Home for Girls.
