Assalamu Alaikum W.W,

It is with humble pride and heartfelt gratitude I thank the Ceylon Moor Ladies Union for lending a helping hand in pursuing my dream of becoming a competent doctor. Indeed, with utmost faith in Almighty Allah together with determination, dedication and discipline, I could pass my First, Second and Final Examinations for Medical Degrees with First Class Honours in 2016, 2020 and 2021 respectively.

I also received Distinctions in Physiology, Family Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics.

These performances brought me the Faculty Excellence Awards in Dean’s List in 2016, 2020 and 2021 and 8 gold medals at the General Convocation of University of Kelaniya 2021.  Achievements in academic performances did not stop me from engaging in extracurricular activities. They ranged from active participation in researches and publishing free papers to participating in quiz competitions such as;

Inter Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) 2017 held in August in Malaysia, representing the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and obtaining the fifth place in the competition.

* Participated in the Global University Medical Challenge 2019 organized by the International Medical University, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ∙

* Participated in the Global Medical Challenge 2020, organized by the University of Colombo and was qualified to the semi-final round.

* Participated in the Inter – Medical Faculty Paediatric Quiz 2021, organized by the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians and emerged as the winners of the competition, the first victory for our faculty in this competition.

Finally, to all the young aspiring achievers out there I wish you all good luck and bear in mind that “Little drops of water makes the mighty Ocean” A little progress each day adds up to big results.
