The year 2026 proudly marks the 90th anniversary of the Ceylon Moor Ladies’ Union, founded on 25^th March, 1936, by 11 illustrious women of our community. Through the blessings of Almighty Allah, their descendants and associates have dedicatedly carried this legacy forward, ensuring it remains strong and vibrant today.

The Union commemorated the Founder’s Day at the Headquarters of the Ceylon Moor Ladies’ Union on 25^th March 2026, with a recital of Kathamul Quran. The event was attended by the immediate family members of the founders, committee members, and the members of the Male Advisory Board. Major highlights of the occasion were the unveiling of a plaque honoring all Past Presidents of the Union by Mrs. Fauzulilla Mohideen, Senior Past President and felicitating a senior member Mrs. Zahira Athas for her 50 golden years of dedicated and compassionate service. On 18th July, the Ceylon Moor Ladies’ Union (CMLU) will commemorate its 90^th anniversary at the Ramada Hotel in Colombo. The event will be attended by eminent guests, descendants of the founder families, members of CMLU, and well-wishers.

To mark this milestone, the Union will launch a commemorative souvenir showcasing 90 years of dedicated service in the Name of Allah, alongside a short documentary highlighting the CMLU’s impactful projects.
