The Ceylon Moor Ladies Union (CMLU) , is a voluntary organisation established on the 25th of March 1936 by a group of women who sought to eliminate illiteracy amongst girls, who are the most vulnerable members of society. The CMLU was later incorporated by Act Number 27 of the Parliament of Ceylon in June 1968 and recognised as a government approved charity by Gazette No: 305 of 78/2/17. For the past 90 years we have served our nation through the tireless efforts of volunteers whose sole aim is the uplifting of underprivileged and vulnerable girls and women across Sri Lanka.
